I awoke this morning to a slightly raw throat. The one someone gets with excessive post nasal drainage. I'm feeling a bit wrong in the sinuses, with an unsavory runny nose to boot.

So, it's time to drop some Airborne, and other vitamins, as well as some sudafed.

I'm watching the Asia channel on Comcast and there is some show about a South Asian Swimsuit Calendar.

Last night was spent watching an episode of Six Feet Under, drum practice, and some more reading of Bill Moyer's Genesis.

I found a new Podcast from Pandora on some music recording and some basic music theory stuff. I think for a beginner, this is a pretty cool thing.

[livejournal.com profile] zonereyrie is reporting on Tivo's booth at CES 2007. For those who are interested in the Comcast/Tivo collaboration, check it out.

Time to get ready for work.

How's your day going?

Oh joy of joys. I've got some of the creeping crud that has been crawling up everyone else's sinuses and dying.

But, on the plus side, my nose now has a festive red color just in time for the holidays!

It is my wish to hibernate for a short spell. However, this wish will not be granted today.

Started out well. Had an overwhelming sense of exhaustion and malaise. I thought nothing of it and went to drum lessons as normal. Talked to [livejournal.com profile] taogrl after my lessons and we agreed to go see X-men 3 later on.

Feeling of malaise intensified and localized in abdominal region. I knew that I was going to be in for an interesting evening. When I say "interesting", it means there will be at least one episode of fountain barfing followed by desire for the release that death will bring. However, I wasn't there, yet, and I wanted to see that movie, so off we went.

I enjoyed X-men. I never read the comics to such an extent where I would grouse about how they treated the characters. I did laugh my ass off at the scenes involving the GG Bridge. What a bunch of horse-puckey. Magneto was clearly compensating for...something.

Before returning home, we bought some Gatorade. [livejournal.com profile] taogrl left and I settled in for my "interesting" evening, which went exactly as anticipated. I whiled away my convalescence with watching the first three discs of season 1 of "24". I enjoyed it, yet rejoiced that I hadn't watched it over an entire 6 month period.

After a partially rested, then partially restful night, I woke up feeling "like new". I ate some light foods, rejoiced at keeping them down, and was ready to do something interesting. I called [livejournal.com profile] taogrl up and invited her along on my investigation of Oroville, CA. Pictures are available here.

I had never driven through Oroville, and I thought it a good opportunity to check the area out. My next goal will be to go to Feather Falls up there, where a 10 mile loop hike to and from the falls awaits me and any lucky guests who want to go along. It's about 94 miles north from Elk Grove, CA.

Now I'm updating livejournal while watching an old Veronica Mars episode on my computer. I'm enjoying the debate Mac has with a fellow computer nerd of OsX versus Ubuntu. Hilarious.

I hope everyone else's weekend went marvelous!

Maybe you don't want to hear me whine about my ear infection and all that...so it's behind a cut.

I am still fending off this head cold action. Still fill some sensitivity around the sinus/eye area. Have a sore throat still. No nasty cough yet, or other feelings of malaise. I just don't like that weird feeling in the eyes, as if I am on the verge of tears.

I slept fairly well, despite some interruptions from the cats. It's now a lovely rainy day.

I have started some laundry, and made a brunch consisting of some leftovers. I had roasted some potatoes an made a sautee of spinach, onions and mushrooms earlier in the week. I sliced two strips of bacon, threw them into the pan and allowed them to cook a bit. Then I cut up those roasted potatoes and tossed them in with the bacon. Then I added the spinach sautee and let those goodies cook up a bit. Then I beat some eggs with a little soy milk and poured them over the potato-bacon-spinach hash. I cooked, flipped, and threw a bit of cheese on top of the fritatta. I ingested that little concoction with two cinnamon crumpets, on which I drizzled some orange flavored honey.

Now I am sated, but with this cold thing, I'm feeling like a nap.

Okay, I'm here in my kitchen, sipping a soy milk mixed berry smoothie, and orange juice. I've already had 1000 mg of vitamin C.

Just call me the Antioxidantal Tourist....

I think I'm coming down with some sort of something something of the ol' ultra-not-well. So far, it's all up in the noggin. Stuffed up, post-nasal drainage and a sore throat! Yeah!

Before I assume the "heal thyself" position, I have some errands to run: grocery store, pet store. I was going to go get my car serviced, too. Yee haw.

Time for a vitamin c cocktail.

Well, I must get on that, then.
