Entertainment News, aka, "I don't want to work on a Monday"
This weekend, I caught up on a little theatre going, as well as some comic book reading. Here is the run-down:
-League of Extraordinary Gentleman: I enjoyed it, however I am not sure how I feel about the changes they made (adding Dorian Gray and Tom Sawyer in the mix). I got a kick out of Captain Nemo and Dr. Jekyll. I felt that Mina Harker got much better face-time here than in the comic book.
-Pirates of the Carribbean: I was shocked to see that Disney was able to put together a reasonably entertaining movie based on their classic boat ride. Johnny Depp and Geoffrey Rush stole the show, me thinks. Orlando…well, yes, he’s sexy in his own special way. But Depp…oh Johnny Depp…meow!
-Blood and Water: I finished the last two episodes in a five part series. I found the variation on Vampire treatments to be rather entertaining. I would be interested to see if they come out with more episodes.
-Hellblazer: Also a fun series. I’ve jumped into it with three episodes where Constantine is dealing with strange creatures coming through the three doors, and his stops to various “friends” around the world to address this problem. Constantine’s trip to visit the Children of Cain was quite interesting. A girl could get hooked on this series
-Hunter: The Age of Magic: I’ve only read one episode so far, but what little I saw I found interesting.
I am actually the boss' stunt double this week. I've had to attend a few executive staff meetings already today. Now to actually do some work.
