I really get a kick out of how Hagrid makes a big deal about Harry delicately approaching the Hippogriff, showing non-threatening deference, and making no sudden moves. And yet, spontaneous applause by the crowd does not bother him. Also, Hagrid unceremoniously tosses Harry onto Buckbeek, and then spanks the Buckbeek's feathery ass to make him take flight.
