Islampede
Tragically odd: some pilgrims drop their luggage and a stampede results.
300 people dead. 300 people among 2.5 million who are there to throw stones at a symbolic devil.
I suppose one way to purge yourself of sin is to get trampled to death.
I think I see a business opportunity for 18" replicas of these columns where the stoning ritual occurs. Nerf stones would be included in the purchase. "Stone the Devil in the privacy of your own home!"
And to think this isn't the worst stampede disaster for this Hajj ritual. The worst was over 1400 people in 1990!
Hopefully, Pat Robertson will NOT be reached for comment.
