Guster!

Guster just released their new album, "Ganging Up on the Sun". I am enjoying it. They are also coming back to the west coast for some tours:
9/14 Dallas, TX
9/15 Austin, TX (ACL Festival)
9/16 Houston, TX
9/17 New Orleans, LA
9/19 Tulsa, OK
9/20 Columbia, MO
9/22 Kansas City, MO
9/23 Denver, CO
9/25 Tuscon, AZ (tentative)
9/27 San Diego, CA
9/28 Los Angeles, CA
9/29 Los Angeles, CA
9/30 Berkeley, CA
10/4 Portland, OR
10/5 Seattle, WA

An excuse to go back to Seattle. Hmmm. :-)

I think Guster is good. I saw them on Austin City Limits and became smitten. Check out Guster on Ice, their live Portland, MA concert. Those songs are some of their best.

And yes, I love Death Cab. They were another recent discovery on my part--also thanks to Austin City Limits' PBS show.

I will want to see them in concert when they come 'round. If you want to hear some more work of Death Cab's lead singer, and are feeling up for some electronic sounds, check out The Postal Service, a side project of his.

I need to start watching Austin City Limits again. I seem to be missing a lot in the music scene.

I'll check out The Postal Service. I like Ben Gibbard's voice (he is the singer, right?)

Any particular Guster song you'd recommend?

Yes, I like Ben's voice, too. :D

I wonder if fans of Gibbard should call themselves Giblets...

Guster songs that I love:
Two Points for Honesty
Demons
Come Downstairs and Say Hello
Careful
What You Wish For
Ramona
Diane
Their cover of (Nothing But)Flowers by Talking heads is fun
One Man Wrecking Machine and Manifest Destiny are from their latest album, and so far I enjoy them.

"Giblets" -ha. I haven't the heart to do it, wouldn't stick my neck out, afraid we'd be chopped liver . . . (and other giblet pun things).

Cool; I'll check out those Guster songs first. Thanks again, M_G
