Top News?

Here's my problem with main-stream media:

Is it really news that Alberto Fernandez in our State Department said the U.S. was arrogant and stupid in Iraq? Really? I mean, are you surprised. Would we look better if we denied it? And when I say this, I don't mean our troops. They are doing a fantastic job given the resources provided to them. I'm talking about our leadership.

With that, here's an interesting article to consider from the Journal of Foriegn Affairs.

London Underground

Like many, I've been appalled at the events in London. I suppose it was a matter of time for the Underground to be hit. My thoughts and prayers go to the people in London, and the people who have family and friends in London.

It is so sad. It is sadder still to see that our War on Terror begets more terror. I feel like our government is missing an important lesson when they try to combat unconventional means of warfare (terrorist attacks) with conventional warfare(invasion).

I wonder why the approach to suicide bomber-type terrorism hasn't been to take measures to give would-be bombers a reason to live.

Surely 80 billion dollars towards that would have some lasting benefits. Currently, we don't have a lot to show for our current brand of fighting terror.
