Tonight I worked another late night--but not that late.

My Mini Cooper fetish is flaring up again.

A friend of mine who works in Phoenix told me something quite special today. He knows me well and his words were wise. He also sent me a book called "The Partly Cloudy Patriot", a series of essays by Sarah Vowell. Good stuff. So far, my favorite line from the book is, "Goddamn fucking Meade!".

I am nearly done with Volume V of The Sandman. Volume IV was fun, but what the heck happened with Lucifer? Perhaps I read it too hastily, left in a haze of late night reading.

I find myself in a state of contentment and annoyance. I suppose I will figure out which way I want to go eventually.

Sleep beckons me.

Lucifer called it quits. As I recall, he's last seen sitting on an Australian beach, watching the sunset, conceding that God got that part right -- sunsets. He's had a series of his own for about three years now, pretty highly acclaimed, though I haven't read it since the first year (I cut it simply because of money issues).

Yes, I hadn't realized that was Lucifer at the very end. He kind of looked like the miserable angel that was duped into running hell.
