Today I am exhausted. I did manage to pass my hardware certification exam today, despite the under-studying I did for the test. One down, two to go.

I am kitten sitting a cute little guy for a few days while its current owners are out of town. This may be a trial run for a permanent situation, however, as its current owners are bleeding heart pet lovers (one is an Emergency Veterinarian)who are allergic to cats. He's a sweet guy who needs a good home.

The challeng: he's blind. This kitten came to the vet clinic in a bad way. Nasty wounded eyes, malnourished, etc. He's lost one eye for good, and the lids are sewn shut. The other one is damaged. Everyone is uncertain how much sight capability he has. My cat is not violent with him, but he is trying to understand what the kitten's problem is, for, given Ray's(the kitten) non-seeing behavior he's behaving differently. The first night was interesting. We'll see what happens.

Ray sounds adorable. I have so much admiration for people who share compassion for animals, especially neglected ones. What you are doing for this little kitten is amazing.

I'm quite sure Ray will consider himself most fortunate should you opt to take him into your home.

He's quite adorable. I just want to make sure that Sascha takes care of him too. I'm hoping for some harmony, and maybe even some big brother paternal instinct. Maybe I hope for too much.

Sascha not attacking him is a good sign already. Just make sure your first baby gets his usual dose of affection and give them a couple of weeks. They'll either be grooming one another like old friends, or each pretending the other doesn't exist by then.

Well, he hasn't violently attacked him. But every so often, he bonks him on the head (only one bonk!). I'm not sure if he's figuring out that Ray can't see him swing, or what.

Is it wrong I find that hilarious? I want to send Sascha kitty treats just for that.

On a more serious (and less sadistic) note, it sounds like Sascha is just letting the new comer know who's boss, without actually trying to hurt him.

I know with my cat and dog, their friendship seemed to start suddenly. One day, Sully was hissing and spitting upon sight of Chewie, and the next, they were cuddled up together, alternately sleeping and grooming each other. Prior to that, I spent individual time petting/playing with one or the other of them, and petting/playing with them both at the same time. Other than that, I just let them figure out what their relationship was going to be.
