Corporate Services Director(to Volunteer Coordinator): You should show up to that dinner in a wifebeater!
Volunteer Coordinator: Don’t say that! Someone might be offended!
Me: Even men who aren’t wifebeaters who wear those shirts call them wifebeaters.
A guy listening in: Yeah.
Me: and God forbid we offend a wife beater. What are they going to do? Marry me and beat me?

Aha. An opportunity to solve this conundrum. What kind of shirt has the horrible nickname of wifebeater? I hear this all the time and wonder what they're talking about.

This reminds me of the comedian who was going to tell all his jokes about a 'fucking asshole.' He just wanted to meet the fool who would come up to him after the show and say, "Hey, I'm a fucking asshole and you offended me!"
