Eating Morning Crow

When outages occur at my company, there's a meeting the following morning, at 7:15am CST. That's 5:15am my time. The person involved in the outage has to speak to the problem, the solution, and lessons learned. Since I was the gimp, yesterday, I had to get up and try to speak cogently to this issue.

I survived it. I was sitting up on pillows in my bed, with the news muted, and a cat cuddling on my lap. I had my headset on my cordless phone. When the time came, I discussed the outage, nobody had questions, and I was free!

I wish more of my meetings were that cuddly.

But now I can put that mistake behind me and move on. My id card still works to get into the building.

Life is still wonderful, but keep the coffee coming.

They love you and know they are lucky to have you there. I think the only lesson to learn is to avoid being the person who has to be awake and understandable to 530 in the am. I almost forgot there are two 530's in the day.

I heard a report today that English people tend to have their work trists in the stairwell or elevator and thought of the Limey. Ask him if it's true?
