Hey, [livejournal.com profile] reannon,

I finally saw "Nightmares".

Well, I'm done with the whole season, actually.

Nightmares was indeed fun. I found amusement with all their nightmares. Buffy's rejection by her father hit way too close to home, though. I thought Sarah did a fine job during that moment. Though I would have kicked my father's ass.

I felt that episode was what really indicated a difference between "Buffy" and your standard teen spook-comedy. Much of the season was pretty frothy, but that episode was different. Buffy's scene with her father was a real punch to the stomach, real drama for the first time, and SMG really nailed it. Then later, when Giles finds her grave, ASH does a fantastic job of showing his character's three dimensions. It's the first time we really see that he cares about Buffy, starting to feel like a father to her, and that contrast between Giles' feelings and her inner fears about her own father makes it a really powerful episode.

(Plus clowns and Willow "singing." How can you go wrong?)

Must. Buy. Season. Two.

Now that I've purchased Season 1, Amazon has a nice deal to purchase 1-4 for $120 bucks. That suxors. I should have bought them all at once. I think I'll get the rest on netflix.

Oh, and yes. The Clown scene was fantastic. Yes, and Giles revealing moment was great.

I hope Joss can get picked up on another network.
