While driving to work, I was listening to Nina Simone's "Mississippi Goddam".

It starts out funny, and then it turns into a scathing commentary on Civil Rights, all done with a sing-songy tune that sounds like a musical. She herself says, "This song is from a musical that hasn't yet been written."

Good stuff.

Yes, I had downloaded an album of hers a while ago, and thought I had listened to all the songs..but it showed up on my random ipod playing this morning. I was quite pleasantly surprised by it.
