(no subject)

One of the things that I've noticed about many of the comments I am getting from the end of June and early July is that I don't remember the comments, and therefore likely snubbed a good portion of y'all. My apologies, for it was not intentional.

Now that it is August 4th, or nearly so, the points seem fairly moot.

Oh, and in the mail, I received:

-The Curry Book
-Outfoxed
-Hero

I created a new City of Heroes character tonight. I'm too lazy to do the screenshot bit. She's a natural/blaster named Annie G. Gunn on the Justice server. I must confess to the good fun I have watching Annie yank a huge assault rifle from her snug cargo pants. They weren't whistlin' Dixie when they said "cargo".

I've got much to read and watch. But first, to the drums.

That's right, baby. And when she whips it out, it's nearly half her height and twice the thickness of her arm. Good fun.

Really know how to entice a fella, doncha?

Hah! I don't think I do...but apparently Annie G. Gunn does. ;-)

"Mozambique"; Term for two to the torso followed by one to the head. Lovely stuff, came out of combat training in the 80's (Not Mine) Been supplanted by the "Shoot till ya caint's shoot no more." School....

i've briefly seen you mention drums before. i haven't read enough of your entries to find out, but are you part of a drum circle or are you strictly a kit girl? could you recommend a nice hand drum?

by the way, thanks for welcoming me in one of your lj entries. i tried to respond, but lj wasn't very friendly to my posts that night.

cheers,
MG

Currently, just a kit girl. The bodhran fascinates me. Then again, so do many instruments. :-) I have no significant knowledge to recommend a hand drum to you. I do know ebay has some for reasonable prices.

Do you play drums of some sort, or are you looking to get started?

i sequence drums, but i don't really play them. i have an old indian drum made of wood and covered in deer skin, but it's splitting pretty badly. basically i just pound on my guitar or other objects to make drum sounds in my recordings.

i've been considering making a drum. i found a site on making a bodhran: http://www.ceolas.org/instruments/bodhran/santin/Contents.htm, but i was really thinking i might like a djembe or a talking drum.

i wish i had the coordination to play a kit.
