Saturday morning, over coffee and Dave Matthews

Good morning, everyone.

I have a drum lesson in an hour. I'm waiting on breakfast (eggs and toast), drinking me mornin' grog (coffee), and talking to some silly goose who works all night and is too tired to sleep.

Well, I'm feeling better and better, but I still have schpilkus in my gennechtagezoink (hooked on phonics, baby). It takes one hot shower to clear the air waves of all that pools up in my head while I sleep.

Meanwhile, as I have my calm little morning of coffee, nose blowing, banter and breakfast eating, someone somewhere is getting bombed, or fighting for their life, or suffering some private hell. Here I sit, quite safe in suburbia. Sometimes the contrast disturbs me. It's moments like these that I am grateful for all that I have, and all that I do not have, and the fact that I do not have super-powered senses to pick up on all the suffering going on out there. In this, I do not sense the divine. I sense only chaos. What grand odds for me to be born in life with such pitiful obstacles to overcome. I certainly never deserved such good fortune.

And then I'll change gears. Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] phinnia, meet Drew. Don't drink while you hit that link, for some of you sensitive folks.

I'm not fluid in Yiddish, but I love Yiddish.

In psychology studies, you learn of the Id. I have the Yid. Be warned.

For various reasons, this same sentiment has consumed me this past week, but you worded it beautifully.

I hope it hasn't consumed you too much. It can paralyze you, sometimes.

The couple are now concerned Drew's name will cause him problems in later life.

Russell said: "People at work are already saying, 'Hey, look there's Droopy's dad'. But we don't want to change his name. It's on his birth certificate and other documents."

yeah there you go. don't change his name cause it is on his birth certificate, that would be too much trouble, instead just scar him and make him a laughingstock for life. good plan. then again if you were dumb enough to name him that in the first place, why would you be smart enough now to fix it. First of all do you not run the name by anyone, like parents, friends, relative, or google, before you choose it? And does anyone relaly think peacock is a good namw for anyone ever? umm hello this is questionable from the start at best. dumbasses. lol the kid is gonns grow up and everyone's gonna be like you know you must have been an accident, you're parents really don't love you if they named you that lol.
