I would guess that for Joe / Jane Average with the standard 29" 4x3 television, this would be quite sufficient. Your usual home-theater-in-a-box is fine for most people. With your TV setup, though, you really want something that will do it justice and match it properly in terms of expansiveness, soundfield and power. If you're intending the setup as a stopgap measure, i.e., something to use while you hunt for something better, then it'll serve. If you want something really decent to complement your nice TV, keep searching.
