As [livejournal.com profile] imlac reported yesterday...

American special forces are inside Iran, now.

Why must our leaders who claim to be so spiritual be the ones overseeing violence and and terrorism? I don't understand how we can fund this, let alone staff another conflict.

Why don't we just ditch the War on Terrorism title and rename this adventure "The Crusades II: the crusadening", or something?

I also think it is no coincidence that as the administration engages in tactics that thoughtful people find despicable, they also attempt to dwarf our education system so that learning to think freely is curtailed.

It's easy to both fund and staff it. To fund it you just cut more programs from your domestic agenda, which sucks anyway so who will notice. To staff it you just reinstate the draft. Done and done. I just wish they draft those young Republicans first.

my boss, who is Iranian, told me 8 months ago this would happen.

Ahh. Lovely- attempting to engineer another "revolution" instead of letting this one define itself- from all I've read, Give these young Iranians another 10 years and they'd be back to a quite modern democracy, albeit in quite a different form than ours. Of course, there's always that pesky Nuclear program.........
