Thursday

Work was busy, but good. Made some headway on sundry issues. I hit the gym after work and had a good workout. Then, off to [livejournal.com profile] taogrl's to fix her network and hit the Naked Lounge.

The network issue was interesting. It was an issue with the wep password. But along the way of troubleshooting that, I found out we didn't know the password to the router, anymore. So, I reset the router, came up with a new encryption password, and all is well. Well, at least on [livejournal.com profile] taogrl's end. [livejournal.com profile] modeleccentric has to reset his access, as well.

I think a lot of people are using cable modems in her neighborhood. The response time on web sites sucked.

Coffee was most pleasant, many cute men were in the shop.

Apparently Surewest is putting fiber in the neighborhood. TV, Internet, Phone. Rumor has it, though, they might have bandwidth restrictions. Hmmm.

Fiber and bandwidth restrictions. I've heard it before. It seems like sprint was talking about fiber a while back. They were very clear about the bandwidth restrictions. They were going to cap it 10Mbps each direction. I figure I can live with that....

But I've also heard they've put a total download limit, too, like 40gb, or something.

Over what period of time? 40gb a month is sort of low for someone who does a lot of browsing or downloads the latest ISO for thier favorite open source OS. 40gb a day or a week however, shouldn't pose a problem.
