*zzzzzzzzzz*

Hey, kids!

Ideally, I should have lived in a country that engages in siestas.

I'm sitting in a training class again, and I'm heading straight to the land of sawing logs unless you, the gentle reader, save me.

If you have the time, comment to my humble blog with something to think about, something funny, or something shocking (but no shocking pictures I might have to explain to my teacher).

In other news, I've been pondering my Harry Potter Party costume as well as hors d'oeuvres to bring to the party. I'm thinking of something involving mini yorkshire pudding casseroles, or canary creams, if I can swing it. For the costume...I think I could make for a rather fun Professor Umbridge. I could be pre-forest Umbridge for most of the night, and then once I've had too much butterbeer, I could hit the post-forest traumatic stress disorder Umbridge...

Do Trelawney.

Treacle tarts or pumkin pasties are easy to make if you get the frozen dough.

fair warning: there is already at least one confirmed Trelawney attending...and I have the treacle tarts & at least 9 dozen pumpkin pasties covered unless you're figuring out a new twist on them that you're dying to make... :)

Ahh. ;)

You could do acid pops, but I don't know what your time constraints are. :)

At the last party, we also made cauldron cakes, which were basically made using biscuit dough with brown sugar filling and roasted/toasted in the oven.

Canary creams are definitely a good idea.

Is there a Luna Lovegood going?

No Luna yet that I've heard, but many people don't tell me their costumes before the arrive since they like to surprise me. ;) I only heard about the Trelawney yesterday because she was originally going to borrow stuff from me to be McGongall instead...There is a family coming as Tonks, a dementor, Bellatrix (me), and a Dobby, too, with maybe a wheelchair as the phonebox at the entrance of the Ministry...but there are like 60 others I don't have any clue if they'll just be Muggles or dress up... ;)

I was going to make easy cauldron cakes (devils food cupcakes from a mix) just to be sure there is enough food for the masses, but I'd love more creativity for that one, and I'm obviously not competing in the food contest anyway... :) Your cauldron cakes sound yummy too!

I want to go to a HP party. :( All my HP friends have moved away in the last couple of years. I will console myself with being the first one to finish the book. :)

YES YES YES!

Oh PLEASE be Umbridge and PLEASE bring Canary Creams!!! :D

You should find some scary psychedelic kitten plates to bring with you...or make up a few High Inquisitor decrees on parchment to post during the party...hahaha! I'll save some twigs from the garden for your hair... ;)

Oh the decrees are an excellent idea! I think I'll get some parchment and pre-print some pages with Inquisitor letterhead, and then have a portfolio of decrees, allowing me to dog the Gryfinndor house and forbid them to do anything fun. ;-)

Yes, I need to find kitteny crap, a big annoying hat, too....Then the rest can be obscured in my "wizard robes".

Canary Creams I'll have to think about. I may experiment with the Yorkshire pudding notion, too though. What I have in mind does sound rather tasty...
