On Digital Crack

I'll admit it, I'm among the masses that is currently laying in the digital gutter, having sold all my free time to play Civ IV.

I have managed to plan and pack for my trip to Carmel for the weekend. I did get the sundry errands I needed to complete taken care of. In addition, I went out to Roseville to visit my mother, who had a bone graft done for to replace a dead tooth in her mouth.

She was in some discomfort. She had to have gauze in her mouth immediately following her procedure. At first it wasn't so bad for her, but then her taste buds returned, as well as some of her feeling. All I have to say is: I think there's a market out there for mint flavored gauze, because word has it that plain sterile gauze, combined with your own blood, tastes wretched.

So, I swung by her house to give her hugs and comfort, and ensure she in good condition, since I would be leaving town for a few days.

I've been contemplating sundry issues, however, I'm too tired to document my ruminations.

With that, I'll now commence to zonking.

you don't have to answer, but I was wondering why your mum went for a bone graft rather than something like an implant or a bridge or anything else for that matter?

I'll tell you that I wasn't offered a bone graft for any of the work that was done on me. but I did go for the implant.

You know, I'm not sure. I'll have to ask why. I don't think she would have done it had she had a choice. This sounds like what she's going through is a pain in the arse. She has to avoid chewing on that side of the mouth and stick to very soft foods for several months.

I'm a closet CIV addict myself. I actually own every version (except maybe the DOS one that I threw away years ago), and saw the newest version and now I am starting to itch for need of a fix.

Is it worth buying? Is it an improvement over III? How is the network play?

that dose sound bad :(

with the implant I was off solid food for about a day. and after that I just had to be careful for a short while.

Okay, here's why my mother did the procedure she did: if she went for a bridge, they would have to file down the two teeth surrounding the one bad tooth. Supposedly, though this process is an arduous one, it should be as good or better than a real tooth.
