Day 1 of Captivity
Life here is...insufferable. Due to my obligations to my community, I have been FORCED to sit in a waiting room all morning and read a book of my choosing. It's sheer torture not worrying about work and letting wonderful little thoughts about non-euclidean geometry bounce around in my brain.
Others were trapped in the lounge and made to watch a video of Independence Day. Most of them kept a stiff upper lip. One man, our jury group's martyr, was reading a pamphlet on Urinary Incontinence.
Our captors let us go to lunch for almost two hours. I was able to scurry away to the La Bou and have a delicious sandwich full of diverse yet pleasing tastes. Oh, these bastards keep us on such a short leash.
I still have yet to be assigned to a panel. If make it to 3:30, I will be free until my name gets randomly generated for more jury service.
