Save Our Chocolate!

I found this link in the Good Eats community.

The CMA is petitioning the FDA to change the content of chocolate. They want to be able to use whey and vegetable fats instead of milk and cocoa butter.

Follow the first link above to go and add your name to a petition to campaign against this.

Bah. Let them make the change. My Belgian and Swiss chocolate will be unaffected by such nonsense.

While eating a candy bar mind you, I took the time to check this out further because I wondered about the health benefits. Manufacturers have worked tremendously hard to remove transfats...I know, I've been there. I thought that might be the root of the plan. Come to find out, its not. Cocoa butter is transfat free.

If you really care, make another stink with major manufacturers. They listen when consumers say they won't buy their products!
