Aug. 16th, 2003 12:13 pmI had my first drum lesson yesterday. My teacher is some old guy named Tony. He's short and skinny, and has short gray hair with hip pointed porkchop sideburns. He's been drumming for 43 years. It was a fun lesson.
I woke up at 10 this morning, having ignored any attempts by my cats to rouse me out of bed earlier. I fumbled around a bit, bathed, then cleaned up the kitchen from last night's feast.
My brother rolled into town last night to attend 20 year high school reunion festivities. He's staying with my mom in Roseville, since it is closer to the location of the reunion.
For their dinner, I prepared:
-Tri-tip, marinated in a tequila-lime marinade.
-lime rice pilaf
-skewered vegetables brushed with a lemon-herb-garlic sauce
-fresh fruit
-Red wine
Today I see Brigadoon with my mother, then I rush to Davis for a Platinum Chefs gathering. We're making cedar plank roasted salmon, among other treats. Then to Woodland to see folks for a bbq. I should arrive at the tail end of that.
Tomorrow, she rests.
