Today's Lesson: Pliny the Elder

I must confess, my Roman history is lacking. Apparently this guy was quite the scholar. Upon investigation, his real name was Plinius Secundus. That sounds much better than "Pliny". Pliny is a great name for a clown, not for a Roman Scholar. But that's just my opinion.

I find this passage, written by Pliny the Younger, to be somewhat interesting.

Pliny the Elder died during the eruption of Mount Vesuvius. Notice the passage doesn't say how he died, though. I think he pissed his toga in fear.

So, I'm organizing a pile of magazines that I haven't dealt with in a wee while, and I find a Blockbuster dvd rental from a month ago.

God damn me! I 100% flaked on returning a dvd. I might as well have purchased this monstrosity.

Why couldn't it have been a really good movie that I accidentally stashed in my house? For the love of all that is good and holy, why?!?

Today's shenanigans

Well, after having a bad sleep night, I got some rest and ran some errands.

I am writing a speech for toastmasters and found myself needing to do a little research. I shuffled off to Borders and ended up buying:

-Righteous Victims
-The soundtrack to Run Lola Run
AND
-The limited edition of Memento
