Your challenge: drop this word in casual conversation.

cumshaw (KUM-shaw) noun

A gift or a tip.

[From Chinese (Amoy/Xiamen dialect), literally, grateful thanks.]

"An additional bit of cumshaw came on foreign press trips, in the old
days at least, when the travel office people enabled the returning
correspondents to bypass customs formalities."
Richard Dudman, Connections, St. Louis Post-Dispatch, Jun 15, 1997.

Well, today was...somewhat annoying. But that's okay. It's not often you have a crappy Monday morning, being pummelled by Murphy's laws. Well, at least, it's not often that I have a crappy, stereotypical Monday.

Let me just say that the icing on the cake, the cherry on the sundae, the crown jewels atop the noggin, the aromatic aperitif to this day was...
...walking into an elevator where someone had recently vacated their recently vaporous bowels. It was one of the longest elevator rides I have taken.

'Tis over now. Perhaps some relaxation is in order this evening.
