Ah, Red Meat-ness

I had been neglecting my red meat visitation duties for a while, until a Mr. Bix reference showed up in the journal zakh. Of course, my thoughts did dwell a momenton Hans Blix, for that is how my mind works.

As per usual, I was not disappointed by Red Meat's quirkiness.

There I was, getting ready to do some computing at the kitchen table. I had my Plantation Coffee French Roast, I had my breakfast. I was ready to go. I plugged my laptop into the power chord, but I noticed I was still missing power. The device was plugged in. Hmmm.

So I think, let's try another power outlet. There are three at my disposal in my kitchen nook. None of them worked. Hmmmm.

Knowing that my power was not out, as other electricity dependent items were functioning quite well, I was somewhat kerflummoxed.

Then I had a flashback to my favorite logicians ever. The Tweedle Bugs from Sesame Street. When confronted with the problem of it being cold in their little Tweedle home, one Tweedle said, "It's cold in here! We must close something!"

My application of said logic was, "These plugs don't work, I must reset something!".

Now, the tweedle bugs had many false starts on their endeavor to warm up their little Tweedle home. The closed books, lunch boxes and other things that didn't do jack squat. Until finally, it dawed on them to close the door.

In my case, I found every other GFI reset switch to reset every other plug in my house. Finally, hiding behind my kitchen knife block, I found an as yet un-reset outlet button.

Rejoice!

*sniff* I learned a lot from the Tweedle Bugs.

Weekend wrap-up

Well, after the Thanksgiving feast, I had a nice, relaxing weekend. This should be the calm before the holiday storm.

Yesterday, I straightend up the house a wee bit, goofed around on the computer, and played the guitar.

Today, I did some yard work, played with the kitten, restrung half the strings on my guitar. It's a bit of a challenge, but in time, I shall perfect it.

I recieved my A+ certification book and a book on game theory yesterday. Yay!

I also purchased a new little floor lamp for reading from Le Target.

This week proves to be a bit busy. We'll be a little shorthanded.

Come Friday, a bunch of us folks are resurrecting the holiday tradition of the holiday booze cruise to Lake Tahoe. This time, the party planners scored us an awesome bus. It isn't your standard face-forward and crane your neck behind you type bus. It's the sofa and tables with cup-holder bus. This movable soiree promises to be quite entertaining. I'm bringin' my digital camera!
