I understand that within departments, special favors are provided for coworkers, like getting better equipment, etc. I know I've benefitted from, it too.

But don't make a bogus show of it, then screw up our inventory as a result, and compell others to have to clean up the mess you made.

If you're gonna break the rules, break them cleanly.
