What sad news to wake up to.

Hopefully, the crew did not suffer long. Apparently, they had no opportunity to communicate any problems.

And, although I don't favor the Lonestar State, or Louisiana, I hope no one comes to harm from the falling debris.

Today is progressing quite quickly. I got up at 0Dark:30. I turned on the TV to see the bad news about the Shuttle. I dragged the comb across my head, pulled on some jeans, a t-shirt and a ball cap and hustled to work. Our company was giving its old PCs to employees, and we were giving away the first round of 200 this morning.

Some folks, even by 11am, hadn't yet heard the news. As I was collecting the bill-of-[non]sale from one of our employees, I was informing them as to why our flag was at half-mast.

"Good morning!"
"Why is the flag at half-mast?"
"The spaceshuttle blew up on entry this morning. There were no survivors. Can you please sign and print your name here? Thank you."

After that, I did some work at my desk and dragged my butt into the gym. Now I'm home with a serious case of hat-hair. Time to shower and rest.
