Mar. 8th, 2003 10:58 pmThe past few days have been reasonably busy. Yesterday started off at a slow pace, but intensified when I left to join some coworkers for a quick trip to Napa and San Francisco. The Texan and I agreed to take two of our coworkers from Colorado Springs and San Antonio out of town for some touristing.
I did not return to home until 1:30am last night, but it was worth it.
We first shuttled into Napa and had a picnic lunch at the V. Sattui winery. The day was lovely and could only been improved upon if we were all actually attracted to each other romantically. Everyone was married except for myself. As Ralphie said, fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuudge.
After lunching on assorted meats, cheeses, fruits, and a 1999 Cabernet Sauvignon, we tasted some additional wines and I purchased a bottle of wine for my collection and we headed off to winery number two, Beringer. At this point, I had the equivalent of nearly 3 glasses of wine, so I was fairly chipper.
We took a little tour of the Beringer facility and tasted an assortment of their fermented offerings. I learned a bit more on how to properly taste wine, and acquired a few additional bottles of wine for my collection. These wines are not sold in the stores, but only at the winery. I'm not sure if this means that it is swill, or that it's of better quality. But I enjoy the tastes of these wines, so I'm okay with it.
I have been keeping fairly busy of late, and I feel the desire to take some time off work. However, there is not an opportunity to do so for another three weeks.
Now I feel some sleep coming on.
