Yesterday

The Plan: Go to Ikea with Mom to help her look at shelves, and to buy a few picture frames. A stop at the outlet stores would be made as well, because my mother wanted to get me a new stainless steel set.

The Reality:
The day begain beautifully. There was no hint of a nasty storm coming. We make it to the outlet stores without incident. As I drive around trying to find the Oneida outlet store, my mother drools over some other outlet stores that we pass: The Eddie Bauer Outlet, the Pfaltsgraf store, Coach. *sigh*

So at the outlet store, here's the damage:
-Satin Easton 18/10 stainless silverwhere,8 place settings, with all the hostess, entertainment, serving pieces. All for 50% off.
-A mahogany case to store said stainless
-placemats
-A fancy bottle to store olive oil
-A stoneware dipping sauce platter
-A coach leather handbag
-socks from Eddie bauer
-a new umbrella
-a new windbreaker jacket
-two v-neck button down short sleeve sweaters
-socks!

And we hadn't even made it to ikea, yet.

At Ikea:
-bookends
-the frames I actually went for
-some new small glasses and a new glass pitcher
-a little ice bucket. Did I need it? No. But it was cute!
-some little storage boxes

I'll be able to use it all, but krikey, I haven't spreed like that in a long time. No wonder women become addicted to it.

Mom and I did not return to Sacramento until 11pm at night. She had never been to a Krispy Kreme, so I took her to the one at my house. I showed her the donut manufacture process, and she had, for the first time, a steaming hot Krispy Kreme donut.

All in all, a very commercial day. I looked rather cute, yesterday, too. I was dressed in red (the blood of angry men!) and black(the dark of ages past!). The red (the world about to dawn) garment was my new windbreaker and the black (the night that ends at last!) garment was my jeans. Amidst that, I had on a white shirt. I felt so Les Mis at the barricade.
