Aug. 9th, 2003 01:45 amToday was pleasant.
After the workout, I started loading an old pc with RedHat 9 Linux. That went well. Now to embark on learning how to use it, etc. Whilst wallowing around my study, Ms Tao called me for coffee. I bathed and raced out the door. Before returning to the domicile, I stopped by Petco to acquire a new pet carrier. This will be bigger so that Sascha can fit in it if need be. It will be a playpen for Maximus. I returned home to complete the linux installation. I have four PCs, and only three power chords. How bright is that? I can rectify that soon, but dang. I have enough extras of everything else.
After the linux install, I hit Davis to hang with the cutie and other friends. We went to Thai 2k, which was a pretty darned good Thai restaurant. I returned home for some geeking about. My Linux box does not appear to enjoy the switchbox from a mouse perspective. Upon switching to a different computer, and returning, the mouse pointer gets stuck in the lower left corner, and will not return until I reboot. The good news is that I learned how to navigate Red Hat's gui sans mouse. Maybe I'll have to move to some different ports.
Other Observations:
-The billboards on westbound I-80 to Davis are depressing. What's the deal with a billboard that shows the Everygrandma with a message, "Beaten" beside her? Sure, elderly abuse is bad, but that's just silly. I wonder if Issa will have that by his face.
-Rebel missions in SWG: pain in the ass! Sheesh.
