Nov. 7th, 2003 07:41 amI'm up! I'm up!
Last night was amusing. Texas Hold 'Em is an intoxicating poker game--and psychology is at play as always. In this variation of poker, each player is dealt two cards. Five cards are then revealed over three rounds of betting, but they are community cards. So, what differentiates your hand is those two cards you get initially.
We used my poker chips. Black, green, blue, red and white. We valued them at $50, $10, $5, $2, and $1. We play with $600 of cash based on those denominations.
I purchased some adult beverages for the evening, one of which was "Dead Guy Ale". The 64 oz. jug it came in is worth keeping, for certain. I'll add that to my Arrogant Bastard Ale bottle. It was good stuff, too.
And now, I must trundle off to work. I think I will get donuts for the crew.
