Today was a decent enough day. I've been wanting to take time to write all day, but have not had the time.

I am tempted to use bullet points, but I shall resist!

Work poses a certain degree of frustration. Especially when a coworker is shirking his duties. It's bad enough we're at minimal staff. But when we lose one coworker to a promotion, and the other is disappearing, likely having some trist with his mistress, well, things get annoying.

On the health front, I've gone to the gym three times this week, so far, and have put in at least 30 minutes of cardio. I will add weights to this regimen this weekend. I have been researching the South Beach diet plan. I know a ton of folks who are on atkins, but I haven't seen them keep the weight off. Furthermore, I don't like a life of low carbs. I think the notion of "good carbs" is a better one. In addition, a diet high in saturated fats still does not impress me. Various research of have done so far suggests that there is some credence to the South Beach diet, as well as good heart benefits. Plus, the menus are quite varied.

I added a quote to my lj quote section today. The famous Lily Tomlin quote about reality. With all the disputes we have in this world and within families and companies, I'm inclined to believe that what we have here is a number of incompatible hunches at work.

Is it not interesting that folks at work who act completely positive and volunteer gladly for anything will get further ahead than those who might be more honest. Particularly positive folks who do not do the work. But if you say you'll do the work with a big ol' smile on your face, your boss believes that it is taken care of, simply based on the warm fuzzy. I think this effect is similar in our involvement with the government. Many folks are so far removed from experiencing a direct impact of the policies of our federal government such that they make their decisions based on the marketing spin, and not the actual outcome. Hence politicians can make grand promises that are either a)unattainable or b)exceedingly detrimental.

Geez. 'Tis late, and I must go to bed. No doubt more thoughts shall unfurl later.

Oh. And some 19 year old is flirting with me. To rob the cradle or not to rob the cradle. That is the question. In some states, i would be old enough to be his mom! Hah!

I'm so accustomed to male and female anchors on newscasts. This morning, a local newstation had two male casters. I presume the females all were unavailable. It's thrown me off.

For some reason, this came to mind. For those who work on the phone with customers, I challenge you to use the voice of...

I'm home. I have a headache. But it's okay. It's the weekend. It is good. It will be good.

Now to relax.
