Use this word in normal conversation. You know you want to!

crapulent (KRAP-yuh-luhnt) adjective

Sick from excessive drinking or eating.

[From Late Latin crapulentus (very drunk), from Latin crapula (drunkenness), from Greek kraipal (hangover, drunkenness).]

"A doctor examining one of his more crapulent patients said to him,
'Your body is a temple and your congregation is too large.'"
Dale Turner; Guarding Our Health Lets Us Better Serve in Role God
Intended; The Seattle Times; Apr 26, 2003.

"1975: Ever in search of new dining experiences, Vancouverites get
crapulent on goblets of beer and fat drumsticks at the Mediaeval Inn."
Liz Hodgson; The Curve Theme Restaurants; Vancouver Sun (Canada);
Feb 26, 2000.

Today is not going so badly. Workin', eating all my good stuff. Temptations are all around me, too. Someone brought in chocolate candies. Reeses Peanut Butter cups. Oranges! But no. I did not have them. Not a one. I am more interested to see how my body reacts to these food changes as much as I am seeking to lose weight.

I tried garlic artichoke hummus today. I was saddened that it's not nearly as tasty on celery as peanut butter is. I'm allowed about a tablespoon serving of peanut butter at a shot, or per diem. Peanut butter is uber tasty. I shall never take peanut butter for granted again.

Yes, I have gone nuts. (Pun not initially intended.)

I wonder if I'll hit some sort of culinary delirium soon? Penning odes to cakes and breads. Potato soliloquoys. Peanut Butter haikus. And let us not forget: Beet poetry.

Yes, I can't have beets either! Did I give a rat's ass before this diet? Hell no!

Cute cate tale:
I woke up this morning smothered by my two little predators. I was asleep on my stomach. One cat was snuggled up right on my side, and another was laying on my back. I had a hard time moving, but it was cute nonetheless.

For those who don't get the molly_ivins feed, here's a primer for tonight's state of the union address:

Diet:
This diet schtick makes me do more day to day cooking and planning ahead. I can't say that's bad. Tonight, I baked some chicken that had been soaking in herbs, garlic and a bit of olive oil overnight. I drizzled a little balsamic vinegar at the end. It was tasty. I made extra to chop up and use for lettuce wraps for tomorrow's lunch. I feel my energy levels go up during my workouts, though. But overall, I've still been feeling a little sleepy. Of course, that's due to my lack o' sleep.

State of the Union:
I watched part of it. When Bush talked about the need for sports players to be better role models (and not cheat to get ahead), I pondered the role model we have for president: be born into a rich family, run several unsuccessful business, do drugs, go awol in the national guard, and still become president. Now that's a role model, kids.
