On March 26th, I'm ditching Dish network and moving to Direct TV. Doing so gives me two new receivers (one being a DirectTivo), a three lnbf satellite dish, all for a startup cost of 120 bucks, and a monthly increase of 5 bucks.
What the heck? I'll try it for a year and see how it goes. And if Direct Tivo lets the receivers be coded to use the Home Media Option, then my prayers will have been answered. :-)
In other news, Salon is publishing a lot of
interesting stuff. It goes into the conspiracy theory line. However, take all the information coming from different sources, and it paints an interesting picture. Yesterday, the published an article from a Pentagon insider on the War on Iraq. This morning, they publish an excerpt from a book "House of Bush, House of Saud". Apparently, we had a boat-load of Saudi royal family members, including many bin Laden relatives in the United States when 9/11 occurred. They were secretly flown out to saftey even during the time when all flights were grounded. One of the Saudis flying out was a member of the family who had, allegedly, contacts with the Al Qaeda. American Intelligence sources found this out accidentally while posing as Saudi interrogators, hoping to instill fear in a captured Al Qaeda operative. Instead, he was relieved.
Though this reads very much like some thriller novel, I'm not yet convinced of these issues, but it is intriguing nonetheless.
In foreign policy, there are no innocents, just power players moving money and alliances around as they see fit.
