The Republican Party in Michigan has turned in 43,000 signatures to get Ralph Nader on the Ballot. Nader's own supporters came up with 5400 signatures. The state requres 30,000.

I don't like this at all. It's not about fair representation. It's about Republicans assuming that Nader will draw the democratic votes from Kerry. I don't think this should have a place in our election process. What else shall happen that will demonstrate our electoral system is a joke?

Maybe it really doesn't matter, given the electoral college. But still, who signed that petition to get Nader on the ballot? Maybe 5400 were true Nader supporters. But do you really thing 48400 suppport Nader? Or will those 43000 signatures vote Republican?

There needs to be some changes.

These past few days have been pleasant. Yesterday, I went to the mall and found out Eddie Bauer left Downtown Plaza Mall. Foo. Waste o' frickin time.

The Landscaper Dude came by this morning. He'll be giving me a quote for doing the brawny, manly tasks that involve big, burly machines to prepare the hardscape of my yard.

He took a copy of my designs and will give me a quote in a week.

In other news, I'll be doing a heavy day of jogging tonight on the road towards training for a 7 mile run in september.

In my life, the maximum I have slogged(not jogged) is 4 miles. And it wasn't too fast. So, 7 miles will be a lifetime record for little ol' lazy me. Lately, though, I've only been running for 2 miles at a time. So we're about to amp it up. My fitness friends have been using a supplement that helps them during extreme cardiovascular workouts. They are more potent than beverages like gatorade. It's called Ultra Fuel. I tried some and sure enough, it does give you a big boost during the run. Why, you may ask? Because one surving has 100 fuckin' grams of carbs (sugar). I tried a quarter serving, however (about 20 minutes before the workout) and it does help quite a bit.

I also bought a heart rate monitor to keep track of my heart rate. Eventually, I'll instinctively know where I need to be, but this will help keep me in the zone I want for cardio training.

My netflix queue is up to 350 movies/dvd series.

Heh heh heh.

I just added a bunch of movies that popped up under a netflix search for Michelle Yeoh. She is indeed fantastic.

I've been wrestling with some ornery computers today, and I am almost finished bending them to my will. Subsequently, I shall trot off to the gym.

Oh, on the weight loss front, I've been stationary. Then again, I've been having non-diety foods. I'll have to strict up on that again. But it's nice to know I can keep a balance, at least.
