Aug. 1st, 2004 10:17 amI suppose I should get up and face the day. My friend, Babydoc is coming over around 3-ish and we're heading to Fry's to look at some external hard drives for her. She suffered a hard drive crash and has not been feeling very safe, since.
I'm feeling abundantly lazy, at the moment. My drum kit needs to be lugged inside, since I didn't want to carry it in at 2 in the morning last night.
Let the record reflect that the music room at my friends' home is on the top of a detached garage. With narrow and steep stairs. I got a work out last night taking it upstairs, assembling it, and then dismantling it and delicately taking it downstairs to my car. The bass drum was the best.

Aug. 1st, 2004 06:01 pmI am sleepy, but content.
BabyDoc came over, we had lunch, we spoke of technology options for her. We drove to Fry's. We found 80gb hard drives that can be either hooked up to your ethernet or via usb. Regulary, it costs $144. It was on sale for $109. Then there's a $30 rebate. We both bought one. She's quite excited, as am I. I'll use it to back up pertinent files. By the time I need more space, such devices shall be cheap. That or I'll build a RAID by then. :-)
Now to finish making dinner, a simple low carb hash that I made with stuff I had around the house. I didn't feel like going to the supermarket today, and so I have a quasi chili of sorts: ground beef (stuff that I ground myself and froze), black beans, onions, mushrooms, cumin, red pepper, salt, some cheese.
I think I shall play some City of Heroes.
scarcrest, are you around to play?

Aug. 1st, 2004 11:40 pmA ghost of a mist was on the field
The grey and the green together
The noise of a distant farm machine
Out of the first light came
A tattered necklace of hedge end trees
On the southern side of the hill
Betrays where the border runs between
Where Mary Dunoon's boy fell
Easter here again, a time for the blind to see
Easter, surely now can all of your hearts be free
Out of the port of Liverpool
Bound for the North of Ireland
The wash of the spray and horsetail waves
The roll of the sea below
And Easter here again, a time for the blind to see
Easter, surely now can all of your hearts be free
What will you do?
Make a stone of your heart?
Will you set things right?
When you tear them apart?
Will you sleep at night?
With the plough and the stars alight?
What will you do?
With the wire and the gun?
That'll set things right
When it's said and done?
Will you sleep at night?
Is there so much love to hide?
Forgive, Forget
Sing "Never again."
The hour is so late. Soon, I shall be early. I find myself in a sleepy, wistful state.
Did I tell you the lads and I did a rendition of Run DMC's "You Be Illin'" last night? Well we did. It was a moment of joyous inhibition. All three of us possessing stupid grins and singing along, followed by laughing our asses off. Of course, we had no MC to work the turntable that did not exist. You certainly cannot simulate that phenomena on my ipod.
Then we stumbled downstairs to see all the BBQ attendees quite amused with our performance. That was a moment, folks.
I suppose I shall banish myself to bed and read.
