[livejournal.com profile] taogrl invited me along, with a few other friends, to see this movie, "What the Bleep Do We Know". Frankly, I felt it was a steaming pile of crap. Using science and common sense psychology to further ideas that are lacking in any falsifiability. (Yes, it is even crappier than my grammar.)

Salon actually did an article on the movie and some of the folks interviewed, and have some interesting observations to make, some of which I agree with.

The very folks that made me suspicious were the ones that have dubious backgrounds. for example the "expert" that spoke of there being no such thing as right or wrong with regard to human interaction happens to be an ex priest who was investigated for sexual offenses committed while in the church. Apparently, he settled out of court.

Furthermore, the movie did feel like an infomercial, and that pissed me off, too.

Below the cut is the article.

It's noon on a Sunday, and I'm getting my City of Heroes on. Awww yeah.

Well, I spent the afternoon bathing in sheer gaming frivolity on city of heroes. It was pretty decent. I didn't get too far, though I am close to hitting level 24 for the newly caped Zarathustra. Also, I have run through a few supergroups as if they were underwear to be changed frequently. But that has passed. Now it is time for reading. Reading a book that must be finished, for it has gone unfinished for so long.

Dinner is heating...the spaghetti I made that I did not get a chance to eat last night, because I received an intriguing offer that certain did make me think, even if they were angry, skeptical thoughts.

Oh, and when I say my cats have been cute lately, I mean it. This was after several minutes of gentle grooming.
