On Abu Ghraib cover-ups
Dec. 8th, 2004 12:01 pmHere's a Salon.com article that was published today about soldiers who were swiftly sent to psychiatric counselling for combat stress problems once they reported that they were witnessing torture. What is interesting about the reporter writing this was that he's not just a journalist, he served in Iraqi Operation Freedom.
A veteran sergeant who told his commanding officers that he witnessed his colleagues torturing Iraqi detainees was strapped to a gurney and flown out of Iraq -- even though there was nothing wrong with him.
