I woke up this morning, did some cleaning and laundry, and reading. I trundled over to Trader Joe's to get some fixin's for this weekend. I went to TJ's yesterday to get goods for the crab cakes I shall be making for tonight's party. So much for planning ahead. Tomorrow I will make ricotta gnocchi for my mother, who is coming over for the day. She shall spend the night, as well, so I have acquired new, improved, and warmer bedding for her in which to slumber.
More precisely, I will be making broiled crab cakes with a chive and caper sauce. That capers are involved automagically kicks up the gourmet factor. (tee hee)
So far, I have made the sauce for the cakes. I shall mix the crab cake mixture shortly, and allow it to chill, then bring the whole lot over to my friends' house so that we can do the dirty deed of broiling on site.
I'm listening to some my christmas music collection, which includes the Trans-Siberian Orchestra goodies that
dslartoo sent to me. Only one week more before my home theatre system is installed, and I can hear this goodness on a grown up stereo. :-) I've had stereo systems in the past, but this is the first time I have purchased an a/v receiver into which all my a/v peripherals will feed into.
Good fun.
