State of the Anneion

Not a lot going on.

Work continues to be busy. I now know a bit more about how ATMs function over a data network. This is kinda cool, and kinda anti-climactic.

I don't have to work this weekend, but I have plenty of work to do, and may in fact go into work.

Dragoncon is a week away. Hee! I have not planned out what I want to see yet, etc. But that would spoil the surprise. :-)

I've been on an uplifting movie kick for the past few nights: I watched City of God and The Last Days of Chez Nous. But, they were enjoyable studies about human behavior, which will always fascinate me.

Now to prepare for my day.

A few disturbing moments

I had a few experiences of a non-preferred nature today.

1. There's a cleaning lady who always has an unpleasant odor about her. I was never sure if it was her, or the garbage can she was pushing around because I saw that she was in charge of cleaning the women's bathroom. I was trying to give her the benefit of the doubt that perhaps she was surrounded by the perfume of an amalgomation of feminine hygiene products. However, today I saw her sans garbage can, and the same stench wove its way to my nose. So it was her all along! Ugh.

2. I was at the gym after work and a coworker was finishing getting dressed. I asked her how she was doing. She proceeded to complain about the weather, the summer, and that it was almost time to start Christmas shopping, since September was drawing near. Good lord, woman! I've never seen anyone go to so much effort towards being stressed out. I mean, you've got a problem if you're kvetching about doing your shopping for Christmas EARLY. Get a grip.

This is also the same woman who has an abundance of glamour shots of her toy poodle on her desk. Mental, that one.
