Jul. 3rd, 2006 01:24 amHere I am, lounging in bed, listening to the Decemberists being broadcast over my wireless network to my tivo, through my little bedroom television and too my ears. Not quite hi-fidelity, but good enough. There's no need for woofers in the bedroom.
I just finished taking a bath using one of the bath fiz-balls from Lush. As I was splish-splashing about, I found myself drifting into a reverie of staring at my reflection in the water. The water sparkled at me; it looked like I was staring into a pool of stars. Either that or something heinous was on the bottom of my tub before I hopped into the bath.
Sure enough, when I alighted from the tub and glimpsed myself in the mirror, I was all tarted-up. Like the monolith from 2001:A Space Odyssey, I was full of stars.
But now I smell all clean and fresh and-and...lush. Note to self, I must hit the San Francisco store next time I'm in the City. Which really should be soon. I'm due.
Sunday was a pleasant day. Most restful. I woke up around 8am initially, as I am wont to do, but I rolled over and snoozed for an additional 2.5 hours. I then began reviewing recipes on Cook's Illustrated's website in search of recipes for a July 4th fete that I will be attending. The recipes in the most recent magazine seem fantastic. I think I'd like to try the pesto pasta salad or the peach crumble. Peaches. Mmmm. Peaches.
I made the risotto I had been craving. I threw some prosciutto, garlic, onions, asparagus, and mushrooms in there. I was pleased.
And now, I must craft an email, and be on my way to sleep.
