Jul. 5th, 2006 08:30 amHappy 5th of July, everyone! Since the fourth fell on a Tuesday, this is the year we celebrate the destruction of our "internal weekday detectors". Thanks to having Tuesday off, we reset our internal counter that tells us how many days we have until the next Friday. We're going to feel a bit Mondayish this morning, perhaps a tad worse, depending on fermented beverage holiday consumption habits. This will persist tomorrow, until we hit Friday, and we shall rejoice.
Of course, some of you were sage enough to take the whole week off, or even today off. Well, nuts to you! I shake a defiant fist in your general direction!
Well, not really.
My Fourth of July was quite pleasant. My friends bbq was simply delicious. The slow roasted pulled pork was deliciously tender, and the bbq sauce made especially for it was delicious. I'm just now realizing it, but I forgot to try the cous cous salad. Dammit. The peach crumble I made turned out well. By pre-cooking the crumble before marrying it to the peaches, the crumble stays crumbly and not pasty.
My new Macbook just left China today.
Time for work. Have a grand day, all!
