Work was not particularly difficult, just long and tedious. One of the fun things we did, however, is changed the Muzak that blasted alternative rock on the floor we were working on. This is normally a no-no during the week, because pleasing everyone requires we play music for prozac patients. But nevermind that. We were the only one in the building, so we busted out the rock.

The day was dragging, until one song came on that made us giggle like school children.
Three Little Pigs by Green Jello )

It amused me greatly. Now I'm considering buying their album. Being a fan of "Spinal Tap", this music seems right up my alley.

Stage 1 of the root canal is complete. I go in for my next appointment next Monday at 10:30. Right now I'm in a Starbucks waiting for the novacaine to wear off before I venture into the office. The upper right side of my mouth is inoperable. The sensation drives me crazy. But if it means I feel no pain while the dentist drills into my tooth, files out my dead nerve and plugs it back up again, so be it.

I had to get some gasoline this morning, so while I was doing my thang at the pump, somebody pulls up with the most annoying R&B music playing. Is it just me, or do the people who pump gasoline while their stereo is blaring only R&B fans? Well, when I turned to look, it was a fellow on a motorcycle that was causing the ruckus. really ,radios on motorcycles should only work on ear plugs. Sheesh. The fellow looked like Isaac Hayes, and he had a leather jacket that said "Suga" on the back.

The feeling is slowly returning to my right side of my mouth. Each tooth feels like it's waking up. One in particular is going to be very unhappy, soon.

In other news, I have some troubleshooting to do with my old series 2 Tivo. I turned on the tv the other day and got no signal. Black screen, with updated schedule info. I thought it was a problem with my direct tv. so I unplug stuff and start plugging it back in. I get satellite signal, but I can't get a clear picture, now. It's like a hybrid of the tivo screen and the direct tv signal. I've tried reseating connections and moving things about, but no love. I'll start over again tonight perhaps, but I'm concerned that the RL V inputs for my tivo are failing.

I'm sure you all have heard, he's been sentenced to death. Not surprising, but the reaction of the press in the Middle East is interesting.

It is times like this when the lack of an objective truth tortures me. People arrive at their decisions using a set of perceived facts. And yet societies can disagree so completely. The whole thing just makes me dizzy.

My tooth, in its semi-rooted state, will be vexing me for the next week. Simply for the fact that my tongue detects a disturbance in the layout of my teeth and will be wondering back to explore the offending tooth at every opportunity. Piffle to that, I say! Actually, I'm saying something more like "piffuah", since my tongue is checking out my gimp tooth again. Bother.

Alright. My Network+ exam is in three weeks. Time to start studying hardcore. A lot of this stuff I know, but lordy, I hate the way they word these questions so poorly. Some of it is simply memorization (again, I dislike it), the rest of it is test strategy. I have to suck it up and get over my ire about the fact that I think the test taking industry is a racket at this level. I think it has some value for colleges, but in the work place? Feh. Experience pays off.

Sadly, I don't do enough of the Network stuff to let most of the net-trivia roll off my back.

Enough of my yackin'. Off to study.

Oh, and I have a pot of spaghetti stewing. Enough for dinners for a week. Score.
