What's new in Anneland?
Aug. 24th, 2007 05:16 pm-On Wednesday I added an eSata drive to my Series 3-vo. It is god. The kickstart 62 method worked...after about the third try. So far, so good. I used the Antec MX-1 enclosure with a Seagate ST3500630NS 500 gb drive. Now I've tripled my capacity. I am pleased.
-I just heard a retired coworker may have contracted West Nile. We'll see. She's been violently ill for three weeks after she received a mosquito bite.
-I burned the candle at both ends this week between work and play. Woops.
-I bought tickets for me and C to go see Avenue Q in San Francisco on September 1st at the Orpheum.
-I have Bioshock!
-I took my mother out last night to see "The Ten" at the Crest. It was a roller coaster ride in terms of how good/funny it was. Mostly, I think it was beyond my mothers more elderly sensibilities, however, it's a great ensemble of people. If you consider an hour-twenty of sketch comedy, you'll enjoy it.
-The Library has my requested copy of Heinlein's "Assignment in Eternity", which contains the short story upon which "Jerry Was a Man" was based. I may check out Reagan's Diaries, too. I understand there's an interesting quote from about May of 1986 that I want to see for my own eyes.
-Nature is harsh, and non human mammals must go through a great deal to survive. But that doesn't appear to stop rhesus monkies from going "gaga" over infants, a study says.
