Friday Night
Jan. 22nd, 2005 12:49 amSo, tonight was moderately successful. After work, I went to class, which only lasted a short time. I have some assignments I'll need to work on later. I'm looking forward to it. Following class I proceeded to Trader Joe's to acquire some foodstuffs in order to make mom's Lemon Meringue Pie. I was hoping to buy the ready-made crust they sold just a few days ago, yet they were out, and it sounds like it shall be discontinued. Bummer.
So, home I went to make some crust and pie. I was successful in that endeavor. The pie is now cooling off, and about to hit the fridge.
Following that, I succumbed to being bitten by the collection software bug. After
dslartoo plugged Music Collector, I did some investigations and determined they had the best deal. Plus, they had a detail I was intrigued in: you can upload books and movies and comics, as well (if you buy extra packages), and these items can be uploaded with a barcode scanner.
Hmmm. Well, that makes it easier. So, I've got the software, and the barcode scanner will be shipped. I can scan the isbn code of my books and catalogue them. Good fun. Also handy in the event of a total loss.
So, I'll buy the comics package later. They have not yet acquired the barcode interface for that package, yet, so it's not quite convenient to catalogue all that.
That's all, for now.

Date: 2005-01-22 03:41 pm (UTC)I'm putting it in my memories. I've been wanting to properly database my books for AGES, but the thought of typing out a 1000 titles is a bit daunting. I wonder if it can do really old editions too.

Or, if you want, you can even download a 10 day trial, and find out for yourself before deciding if you want to pay for it.
