...with Folger's Crystals. Let's see if they notice.

Congress at work.

For the sake of posterity, I want to document the law Congress recently passed:

An Act for the relief of the parents of Theresa Marie Schiavo"
[notice it's not a relief for Theresa. Just her parents.]

"United States District Court for the Middle District of Forida shall have jurisdiction to hear, determine, and render judgement on a suit or claim by or on behalf of Theresa Marie Schiavo for the alleged violation of any right of Theresa Marie Schiavo under the Constitution or laws of the United States relating to the witholding or withdrawal of food fluids, or medical treatment necessary to sustain life."

Good grief. No big government there. Nope. None! Let's just disregard our judicial system because, gosh darn it, they just aren't telling us what conservatives want to hear. Since when did "Checks and Balances" ever mean "Bow to rabid special interest will"?

I am so angry that special treatment is being given to a vegetable. Why are these people so hot to defend beings that cannot disagree with them?

Hmmm...

Maybe their next Secret Evil Plan is to pass a law saying that come each election year, a census shall be taken and a ballot will be marked with votes for a straight Republican ticket for each warmed-over corpse they've got plugged into the machines. After all, they'd vote Republican out of gratitude if they were alive, because everyone knows that every single person who has a near-death experience becomes a scary big-haired Jesus person, hallelujah, and as such has a moral imperative to vote for God's Own Party.

Sick pigfucking bastards. I hate the Republican leaders almost as much as I hate the baby-rapers.

Schindler's daughter, her married name is Schiavo.

I was thrown out of a car, fractured my skull, suffered a severe head injury, suffered seizures, there's about a 3-week gap in my memory, and although my hair's often pretty big, I for damn sure am not a Jesus person, much less a Republican. (Jury's still out on scary though) I'm just saying.

Definitely pigfuckers. :P

In reference to your last question. Don't you think it's a win-win scenario. No one to give an opinion or disagree or act like an idiot when you're trying to defend them? They are so willing to defend someone that cannot think or feel for them, perfect scenario. Easy win-win.

Well, yeah, I was being sarcastic. But I could see a Republican thinking that up -- these are, after all, the same people who try to pass laws with phrases such as "the secretary of homeland security shall have the power to suspend all laws at his sole discretion."

Isn't this how they've been doing elections in Texas? I hear a lot of former death row inmates there vote Republican...

So far, the courts are STILL backing the husband on this case. The parents are trying to get the Supreme Court to hear it again, but I'm thinking that won't happen. The result will be that Terri finally gets to die, the parents may file some sort of civil suit (if they can) and this whole thing could backfire on the scummy neocon rightwing bastards.

I don't agree it's the right thing.

I just think that if there is anyone that a lawyer or politicians want to defend it's the person/persons being born/or not yet born that cannot "defend" themselves. There isn't any way this person can come back later in history and put their names into the ground. There isn't any way for them to speak their minds.. It reminds of the right to life people. There aren't any complaints of service, not bitching or whining...It's seems to me it's a win-win. They can make the decisions for someone that cannot and not hear one complaint from that person.

Yeah, I knew you were being sarcastic, and it wouldn't surprise me if they tried something like that. I'm just saying I wouldn't be able to sit still for that sort of thing.
