The Black Rose of Iraq
Nov. 29th, 2002 10:11 pmI was watching CNN Headline news and they were discussing Harvey McGeorge, a member of the UN weapons inspection team. Apparently, it got out that he was a founder of The Black Rose, a D.C. BDSM club. Here's an article about it. And another one.
So, the New Zealand Herald suggests, doing an internet search reveals sundry bits of info. I decided, what the heck! Lemme explore!
I found his "Curriculum Vitae". Usually the term "Curriculum Vitae" is reserved for academic folk. It turns out Harvey has an honorary Ph.D. from this institute in Russia. Apparently, they offer PhDs by correspondence, too. His real degree is an Associates in security. Here's a man who has been active in the United States government, a marine, etc, and the only institution to bestow an honorary degree is from Russia.
Now, I found websites involving his hobby. I'm reasonably open-minded, or so I thought. Some of these semimars curled my toes a bit. Especially the part discussing the importance of cleaniness with regard to whippings. Apparently, Hepatitis stays alive on bloody whips for weeks. However, many of the seminars seemed rather garden variety and practical in nature. Be sure to look for Jack Mcgeorge's seminars. There was also a lovely outline on Grant Writing.
I'm not really opposed to spanking, or the occasional flogging, but drawing blood? I think I'll stick to BDSM, the board game, thank you very much.
And finally, Jack's club. Be sure to check their calendar of events. Some of you will be disappointed to have missed last week's meeting on how to make your own flogger.
Not that any of this is good or bad, per se. The main issue is no, he shouldn't be fired for being into BDSM. I find it interesting that the UN folks had no ability to do background checks. That's awfully sloppy. It's almost as if someone doesn't want this UN inspection to go very smoothly. Mother Jones thinks so, too.
