Lasagne

It's Saturday morning, and Semi-homemade with Sandra Lee is on.

How many of you use tomato soup and cottage cheese in your lasagne recipe? Sandra Lee seems to prefer that over tomato sauce, or canned tomatoes and ricotta. Ack.

I have used cottage cheese in my lasagne, but I didn't really like it. it seems like one of those 70's things.

If you have ever read the book "Under the Tuscan Sun", you might have seen within the story a recipe for wild mushroom lasagne. I made it, and it is delicious. Now I keep that book with my recipe books.

Oh, when I was down in so cal, my sister, who reads my journal, commented on my friends list--who she likes and so on. She put you at the top. She thinks everything you say makes perfect sense.

I am back, briefly, but leaving again tomorrow for a short trip over the hill and down the east side of the sierras to practice my camping (and not having a computer) skills.

I have used it before but I HAVE to use the ole boat motor to it to get it into a fine consistency.

Ew. Ew. Ew. The real question is, though, what was the tablescape? I'm envisioning a red gingham table cloth with dried noodle shapes hot glued.

I actually use cottage cheese. I prefer it to ricotta for lasagna. I mix it with eggs, freshly chopped parsley,shredded parmesan, lemon pepper, and garlic-herb seasoning. My other items are lots of fresh spinach and a special beef and sausage meat concoction (including onions and garlic and other flavourings). I mix in tomato sauce/pasta sauce/tomato paste, and I use garlic flavoured pasta sauce as the all over sauce poured on. Of course there MUST be lots of cheese. It's very popular. I don't understand why she would use soup. It's not like it's a big hardship to open a can of sauce.

Okay, I have to say it.
I absolutely detest how Sandra Lee always coordinates her outfits/tablescapes/kitchen decor with whatever holiday or theme she's doing. Particularly the kitchen aid mixer. She has every color in the friggin' rainbow. Even the mixer I covet, the Holy Grail of mixers, the copper mixer.
The woman makes me sick.
