When I lived in south sac, there was a big flood and all the houses on my street flooded, except mine. We had the highest lot on the cul-de-sac, and the water stopped at my doorstep. I had a little rubber raft and paddled around the neighborhood.
although I had flood insurance, most of my neighbors didn't. It was too bad, because most of them ended up moving, and the houses became rentals.
