Call for Protest via neglect

scarcrest passed this link along about five people getting arrested as a result of Fred Phelps and his gang protesting at the funeral of a fallen soldier.

If ever there was an evil hateful group, this is it. They are taunting others when they are at their weakest. In this case, grieving citizens. If you believe in the Devil, I think he's using Fred Phelps to get us to come out and "play". What better way to piss people off, and get them to commit the crime. This is when clear thinking folks need to simply cut out Phelps and his crew. If they protest around you, ignore them. If they talk to you, pretend they are not there. Ensure that the time and money spent to stage their protests are a wast of time, and look right past them.

I think there is just as much evidence that God is punishing us because Fred Phelps exists, not because "Americans support homosexuality". Fred Phelps objective seems to be to incite hate and not love. Well, I'm not going participate in that.

Yeah, Fred Phelps is a monster. There's no getting around that. But if you think about it a different way, he's accomplishing the exact opposite of what he's setting out to do. He's making himself look like a complete jerk-off, and kick-starting positive conversations that might not otherwise be kick-started. People look at the messages that he's trying to disemanate, and come up with an opinion of their own. And see what a waste of space he is, they'll tend to draw the opposite conclusion of what his people say.

His "church" is based in Kansas, and he would be protesting out there all the time, and get gobs of newspaper coverage, and spuured on by that, he's prtest some more until the media out there just basically ignored him. That's why he's chosen the rest of the country to do his hate-mongering. So ignoring him is the right thing to do, since we can't legally wipe him off the face of the earth; this is the next best thing.
